Happiness (tips to be HAPPY)


Do we really know what happiness is? There have been times when I have wondered if I am really as happy as I am supposed to be. Have you ever wondered if this is all there is to life? You know, you think that maybe, just maybe, there is more to this world and you are missing out.

The truth is, we all have these thoughts about happiness and life and sometimes they make us feel as though we are in a permanent rut. However, I have good news; it does not have to be that way.

Happiness is a state of mind over which we have full control. Most of the time when we are feeling down or inadequate, we tend to let our minds focus on what is wrong rather than realizing all that is good with us and all around us. No matter your situation, rich, poor, homeless, unemployed or simply lonely, each one of us can be happy in an instant.

The key is simple and it takes little effort and it costs us nothing. It all starts with our thoughts and our belief that euphoria can and does exist. Too often, people hear about great ways to become happy and they try one of these ways. Then they become skeptical wondering why happiness did not immediately manifest itself in their lives. Simply put, we must first believe in what we are trying to achieve and then get out of our own way. When you are able to clear your mind and understand that happiness is a few simple thoughts away, then it will flow to you like a river of love.

When we are in the midst of a life storm, our goal should never be to get back to where we were before the storm. No, the goal should be to emerge from the storm better than we were before. Think about it, if you are going through a major storm and you finally see the light, it just makes sense to have learned from it and come out better than you were before it. I believe that your goal should be to make each new day better than your yesterday. Now, how do we do that?

It is simple - It all starts in your mind and with your thoughts. Happy thoughts that you believe in will lead to happy results. Our mind is a muscle that loves to be exercised and when we feed it happiness, it will respond in kind. Each and every day, we have the ability to practice happiness and watch it work. Here is a great exercise to do each morning. When you get up, make sure that the first thing you feed your mind is a thought of happiness. Your brain will retain this thought and it will carry over throughout your day. You will begin to notice other people including strangers treating you with happiness as well. This will all take place simply because you have set the tone for your mind to operate.

Remember, however you think, your body will follow.

Maybe you are in the midst of a storm in your life right now. Fear not. Try thinking and believing happy thoughts and experience what happens. Not only will your crisis subside, but you will begin to see that you are even stronger, wiser and better after it is all over. Remember, nothing in life is a quick fix, take the time to practice this each and every morning.

Keep a log of your day for 30 days and then look back and see what you have been able to achieve. I promise you will be amazed at how happy you can really become. Simply put, happiness is truly a choice within
